My studio in Steinen is placed next to a small chapel, which is dedicated to St. Vincenz. The chapel is rather abandoned, and no one is visiting this place anymore. When I look out of my studio window, the chapel is always there, like a stalking neighbor wat-ching me work. We‘ve been watching each other for a long time. I started to investigate in this place, first from the outside and later from the inside. I photographed the place with an analogue came-ra, made a specific selection of the photos which rebuild the altar inside. The photos are partially put on plaster plates, others are chromira prints framed in heavy wooden frames. They are instal-led on a triptych made out of chipboards whose middle section is covered with wallpaper.
