The work "Capriciile Iubirii" is a sculpture inspired by the decoration of Romanian wedding halls. Marriage is still very important in Romania and has a strong presence in everyday life. After the end of communism, the marriage market underwent a commercial revolution and the custom and the bride were capitalised. The sculpture addresses the failed pursuit of romance and the disappearance of old traditional elements, which have been replaced by kitsch. The title "Capriciile Iubirii" (the whims of love) is inspired by a Romanian reality TV programme that has gained considerable popularity. In the programme, young women compete for the attention and affection of a male contestant who is looking for a potential bride.
